2021 Purlieu Platt Vineyard Chardonnay

Purlieu’s 2021 Platt Vineyard Chardonnay delivers all the intensity and grace of its vintage in a sleek, saline and citrus-driven expression of the variety. Fermented half in cement eggs and half in neutral French oak casks, the wine opens with a round, inviting nose showing rich aromas of lemon curd, stone fruit, mace, and pastry crust. The Pacific Ocean’s proximity reveals itself in the saline backbone and limestone minerality, which structure the wine’s bold citrus core and zesty acidity. Delicate notes of apricot, apple, ground almonds and baking spice emerge on the midpalate and linger through the long, extended finish.
